Barbara Hernandez Wins Outstanding Service Award

Barbara Hernandez chaired the Home and Property Advocates Committee worked with local governments to develop sign codes that allow REALTORs® to legally put-up open house signs to help our members conduct business.  TAR worked with Oro Valley to eliminate the requirement that our members had to purchase a $1,000 annual sign permit.  Barbara also had 100% participation investing in RAPAC, our REALTOR® Political Action Committee, by the Home and Property Advocates committee members for both years that she served as Chair.

She also served on the Candidate and Ballot Measures Taskforce in 2019 and 2020.

She helped interview dozens of candidates running for local office to educate them on REALTOR® issues and endorse candidates that support our industry.  During that time Barbara led the effort to defeat Proposition 205, Tucson’s Sanctuary City Initiative, that would have damaged both our economy and public safety.

She also helped TAR pass Proposition 481 that helped fund high wage job training programs at Pima Community College. She is a well deserving recipient. The winner is:
